Reddit ultra fractal
I never put mine onto a pedal board, so I had to set up and break down my OD/dist pedals in the loops for every gig, which was a hassle, and once again you will need 8 custom cables to use all the loops for OD/dist. The G system is I think BEAUTIFUL! Well built and stylish, BUT it is huge and heavy.

I used a Lehle Sunday Driver and had no tone suck/feel issues, but once again more money required to get the whole system working optimally. If you have a parallel loop it won't work well.Įagle1 is right about the tone suck at the front, but it can be reduced/eliminated by careful level settings and the use of a good buffer at the front. If it is not 100% (some aren't even though they claim to be) you may have issues.
#Reddit ultra fractal serial
If your amp has a proper 100% serial effects loop you should be OK. Running the G system in 4CM will require balanced cables (more expensive than ordinary ones) as well as EbTech hum eliminators (1, or possibly 2 - more expense) to reduce noise. Here's a couple of things to think about with the G system. I had and gigged a bit with a G system, and now own an Axe FX Ultra which I use for effects only. But Daddy, I want an Oompa-Loompa NOW!!!! #FirstWorldProblems I invite you to share in my butthurt, Gen Y, instant gratification, entitlement mentality. On a related note, I REALLY hate the coy way that Fractal goes about teasing their products. The wait for the FX8 could be a month, could be two years. Availability: obvious advantage for the G System. Will the FX8 be better in this regard? No way of knowing. Ground loops, impedance mismatches, signal level control.sounds like a nightmare. Ease of setup/troubleshooting: Unknown, but the interwebz are rife with tales of woe on using the G System in a 4CM setting. There are three G Systems on eBay right now for $750.
#Reddit ultra fractal plus
I assume the FX8 will cost at least $1200, plus $300 or so for an RJM or something similar. I would need to buy a TB looper like the RJM Mini Effect Gizmo to use with the FX8. (Yes, as stated earlier, I know the FX8 will have Fractal's drive blocks. But the G System has 4 true bypass loops for pedals, which is a must for me because I'm keeping my drive pedals. Assuming the FX8 works like other Fractal products, it will have much more flexibility in terms of pre/post effects routing. No drives in the G System as far as I know. Fractal and TC both have great effects, but the FX8 will have Fractal's drive blocks. Effects quality: probably advantage to the FX8, based on the lovely effects in my Axe-FX Ultra. Here are the advantages to each as I see them, trying to keep FX8 conjecture to a minimum: I play modern/classic/alt rock covers plus P&W. It has much of the promised functionality of the FX8, plus some additional things (like true bypass loops for pedals) that the FX8 will not have.įor frame of reference, I'll be using it with an Egnater Mod50, in 4CM, with 4-5 drive/compressor pedals. I've never looked at the G System seriously before, but suddenly I'm intrigued. Since there is no ETA on the FX8, I started looking at alternatives. Its border would show an astronomical number of different fractal structures. All this talk about Fractal's new FX8 has me excited about a floorboard effects unit to integrate with my tube amp. Relating to an ordinary monitor, it represents a section of a Mandelbrot set with a diameter of 4 million kilometres. The magnification of the last image relative to the first one is about 10,000,000,000 to 1. From Wikipedia: Image gallery of a Mandelbrot zoom sequence Its border would show an astronomical number of different fractal structures. The following example of an image sequence zooming to a selected c value gives an impression of the infinite richness of different geometrical structures, and explains some of their typical rules. The Mandelbrot set shows more intricate detail the closer one looks or magnifies the image, usually called “zooming in”.
